Rio's Addictions and Substance Use Programs


Rio Salado College's Addictions and Substance Use Disorders programs are designed to give you the tools you need to change the lives of others. 

Rio Salado is one of Arizona’s top trainers of chemical dependency professionals among National Association of Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC) approved colleges.

Coursework focuses on the recovery process, relapse factors, family dynamics, various intervention models and professional ethics.

“There is an ongoing problem with addiction in this country, and that is why addictions counseling remains one of the top growth professions,” said Dr. Kirk Bowden, faculty chair for Rio Salado's addictions and substance use disorders program.
