This is an opportunity for employees, students and our community partners to collectively donate time, money and resources to improve the lives of our neighbors who need a helping hand.
How can you help?
Make an online pledge! It's quick, easy and secure at https://donate.vsuw.org/checkout/donation and every donation makes a difference! Rio Salado and MCCCD employees are encouraged to use this online interface at https://epledge.vsuw.org using their MEID username and default password (birthday (mmdd) + last 4 digits of employee number)
Donate to the Rio Salado Unites Book Drive! Drop off new and gently used books for K-12 students at the Communiversity at QC or any Rio Salado location throughout the month of October. Rio Salado's Educator Preparation Program will collect the books for students attending local, high-need schools and living in communities struggling with poverty. The donations will benefit Wilson Elementary School District, a small K-8 district in the downtown Phoenix area, which has a rich history of serving kids in the community for more than 100 years. Additionally, your donations will be used to provide books directly to students in Rio’s Educator Preparation Program, who will distribute them when student teaching at schools in need.
Volunteer your time at Project Connect! Serve as a Guest Guide alongside Rio Salado's new Vice President of Student Affairs Dr. LeRodrick Terry to provide one-on-one support services for people who are homeless. Project Connect offers instant access to the resources people in our community need to start the journey back to health, financial stability and housing. This includes access to goods – like food and clothing – and services such as counseling and job placement.
